Heinonline released an iPhone and iPad app today. Since Heinonline is a proprietary resource that you get via IP authentication, you must be on campus at the University of Hawaii to authenticate. After you IP authenticate via the app, your authentication will expire in 30 days. Therefore, after 30 days, you must return to campus to IP authenticate your app again. All of the libraries we subscribe to including the Law Journal Library, the Philip C. Jessup Library, National Moot Court Competition, etc. are now available on your mobile device.

World Constitutions on HeinOnline
HeinOnline’s newest database contains the current constitution of every country in the world in its original language and at least one English translation. Source documents, where available, are provided for every consitutional document, and include the original text, amending laws, consolidated text and important related texts. Additional features are links to related scholarly articles and commentary, and a bibliography of select constitutional books available elsewhere.

Legal Trivia: Presidents Day Is Not An Official Holiday
A HeinOnline blog post about the holiday retailers call “Presidents Day” indicates that this holiday is actually Washington’s Birthday. In 5 U.S.C. 6103, ten federal holidays are listed.
HeinOnline also offers links on its blog post to scholarly articles about Washington’s Birthday as a legal public holiday.
